In North America you must be 18 years of age to open a brokerage account in your name, a parent can open a custodian account for you and when you turn 18 the assets in the account can be moved to an account in your name. Regardless unless you're 18 you CAN NOT by law transact business in a custodian account

Don't believe you read about Buffett. I too was 11 when my father opened a custodian account form me. But I had to study about the markets and the various products traded in those markets and my father had to enter all the transactions. In addition I had to learn the rules & regulations that govered the markets and the products

.Before you spend $0.01 on any investment, you must know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and how to do it. Before you invest in any security, the first investment you should make is in yourself, and the best investment you can make is by educating yourself.

Begin your education by learning why you should invest and the importance of being able to make your own decisions or how the pro’s make theirs. Start your education by reading “Investing for Dummies” by Eric Tyson.

You are too young. 14 is really a very young age for stock trading. You need to have some knowledge in order to invest in stock market. I would suggest you to do a little bit of research before entering into this market, at least educate yourself to make a good strategy after that you can take help of a reliable automated trading system. It can help you to grab profit.

No brokerage account is going to open a trading account for someone at your age, sorry.

I'm 14 years old, and i wanted to know about opening a scottrade or any other good stock market account, but when I saw all theses abbreviations on screen I became a little confused, I heard that an 11 year old named Warren Buffett invested and is now a millionaire, I don't have to be a millionaire, I just want to make a little money afterwards. Please send me anything important I need to know beforehand.
