To become a landlord - you need money behind you in cash or a good income to buy houses and rent them out. So at 18 until you are VERY rich you ain't going to do that
But kudos to you to trying to save
you do not need to be VERY RICH just to start something or get into something. If that was the case, then how could anybody hope to be rich? So ignore that answer.
Anyways congrats you seem to have your head screwed on! If you want to get into the property market i'd say research it as MUCH as you can. Buy books on the subject, read magazines about it etc. It's not so much about what business or market you choose, it's more about how much knowledge you have in that market and whether you'll enjoy doing it.
Just research everything you're interested in doing, and maybe look into setting up your own website to make some money on the side? Like eBay etc.
1 More tip - http://kickstarter.com is a good place to start if you have unique ideas you'd like people to fund.
Hope that helps!
Maybe do what my son does
He owns 2 businesses and owns 3 homes
He also invests in the stock market
You have to do your homework on everything you do, and sadly you'll have to take risks as well
He started his own I.T. company when he was 24, working at home,he's now 30
It's grown now to having a shop and employees
He also sells T shirts online as his second business
He bought his rented flats at auction, using cash, not a BTL mortgage
So work hard, invest wisely and see where it takes you

If say a 15 year old wanted to build his wealth then what would you suggest he does? I already have started investing in a couple of penny black stamps and have about 10 oz of silver. I also have about 5 grams of gold which I know won't make me rich but it is a start.
Over the years I have also been able to save up about £4000 which I think is a decent amount for a 15 year old.
Where do I go from here? Keep investing in silver and saving lots of money? Setup a business? (Have no ideas).
Also, when I turn about 18-25 I am thinking of getting into the property market and becoming a landlord? Is this a good move or would something like land banking vast areas of land be a lot better?
