How is the market for gemstones like?

The market may be doing OK, but you need to sell about a million dollars worth to get 100% of the wholesale price for diamonds. That's how it works with a lot of things, like the things traded on commodity exchanges. Wheat, corn, and soybeans are traded in quantities of 5000 bushels. Mercury comes in standard 76-pound flasks. Steel billet is priced by the ton, but sold in batches of 65 tons.

For the average solitaire engagement ring diamond you get about 30% of wholesale when you sell. The diamond retails for about $3000, the wholesale price is $1500, so figure 30% of that plus the scrap value of the precious metal.

I don't know how it works with other gems like tanzanite.

We have gemstone and jewelry certification labs and the prices are very competitive, starting from as low as US$15.00 and above. You can get it appraised or you can get the clear pictures to me or a video and i can get the price value. I am a gemstone seller and jeweller on internet for more than 5 years and i guess i can help...You can view me below

High quality diamonds have increased in value much better

then gold or silver. Depending on the size, shape and

quality of the tanzanite ring, It could range from several

hendred to a few thousand dollars. They are mostly a blue

color.

I know the prices for precious metals have skyrocketed over the years but what about gemstones? My mother was married to my father in the mid 90s and he bought her a lot of fine jewelry. We have not recently appraised them. She has a tanzanite princess Diana ring. Not sure if the market for tanzanite and diamonds have been doing well lately.
