Not many are rich, some can make some money. Alot of the big money is companies, not a developer. Many think they will throw an app out there and will make alot, which is false reality, many dont make hardly anything and quit because it is alot of work.
Depends on platform, still iOS developers get paid more than Android or windows developers, because iOS users are more willing to pay. Only like 1-5 out of hundred are financially very well
