Well, you make more than about 89% of everyone else in the United States, so I would say you are doing pretty well.
I hate to say it, but if you can't live a comfortable life on $138,000, you are probably living way above your means. At this income level you could be living in a house worth roughly a half million dollars, have several nice, new cars, send your kids to college, and have all the latest and greatest technology, and still have some money to spare for a weekend getaway.
I made $149,000 last year (rounded to nearest $1,000). I contributed about $30,000 to my retirement accounts - pay yourself first! We donated approximately $30,000 to causes we hold near and dear. My wife and I lived off of $5,500 per month, which allows us to live a very comfortable life. The rest we kicked into savings and other liquid assets to use in an emergency or on a rainy day.
Would I like to make more? Sure. But I can't complain because I live a very comfortable life. I have learned in life that money will NOT buy you happiness. I get much more satisfaction in giving to charitable organizations than I do in spending money on myself. Maybe instead of wondering how you can make more you should look into making some donations. You'd be surprised how good it makes you feel.
You have enough income for a "rich" life. Focus on family, friends and needy people and don't worry about "stuff" (jewelry, cars, and clothing)
If money is your only concern, you are to be pitied.
Stop asking for alot of useless items and allow for the man to save . This question is BS
Take care
Well I earn about 17% of that and am a single mother... so you tell me if you are doing ok.
