Whats confusing?
you calculate the value after 1 year (+8%)
then you take the new vakue after 1 year (-5%)
then you take the new value after another year (-5%)
If you find it confusing then give up maths cos you will be useless at it - and better find that out now than persist in trying to get other people to do your work for you (but I have no doubt some dumba//s will)
Lol @ who for basically doing the work for you...what a dummy
4,000(1.08)(1 - 0.05)(1 - 0.05)
= 4,000(1.08)(0.95)(0.95)
= 4,000(0.97470)
= 3,898.80
Jon buys £4000 of shares. In the first year the shares increase in value of 8%.
In the next two years the shares decrease in value by 5% each year.
Work out the value of the shares at the end of three years.
