If you don't know what stocks you are comfortable investing in you should either seek professional advice or educate yourself about investing.

I suggest you look into blue chip companies. They're the safest companies you could invest in, and hold long-term.
Not advisable to follow others hints. Have your own judgement, invest in prime stock when the index is low
Consider Facebook (FB) According to the "experts", FB is positioned to make a ton of money because the mobile market will be huge. They estimate a 50 to 300% price increase in the next several years. (I bought some, but I have been wrong before)
Check Zacks, Yahoo Finance and others for their take.
I wouldn't take advice from msgboards. I have some I would recommend but I'm not in the business of recommending stocks to others.
