Are bonds safe to invest in?

At 32 years old, with your whole life ahead of you, stay out of bonds for now. You don't need "protection" or "safe" investments at this time in your life. Go for more aggressive investments because you have a lifetime to weather any declines. Go for the long term. Start looking at bonds when you're 60 years old.

Bonds are always a part of a good portfolio. According

to the Fed. interests rates are not scedualed to go up

until the middle of next year. So for now they are a safe bet.

If your interested in large cap and mid cap stock funds,

here are a couple of good ones.Fidelity (FDGRX) and

Aritision (ARTQX)

It is my understanding that when the interest rates shoot up, the market and share amounts in general tend to start dropping.

As a 32 year old, is this safe to invest in? Someone recommended that I invest 25% into bonds and I'm a little iffy on that one. I'm looking more into mutual funds and Large Cap/Mid Cap.
