As a general rule:
#1: Trust your gut. If you have to ask yourself if it's a scam, then it's a scam. There's no quick, easy, and fast way to make money.. Anyone that promises you quick riches is only out to enrich himself. Like they say, a fool and his money are soon parted. Don't be a fool. This leads me to..
#2: do your homework. I'm new to investing, but I do my research. Read, and make a watchlist and watch from the sidelines before you put any $ into the stock market, or any investment vehicle. A good place to start is a site like Investopedia. Follow stocks on Google Finance or Yahoo.
#3: Ray is absolutely right. Look for regulatory agencies and logos. In the US, this is FINRA, SIPC, FDIC, etc. this will be on the bottom of any reputable site (eTrade, TradeKing, OptionsHouse, Sharebuilder, Scottrade). Profitpilot is particularly vague and worrisome:
"1.3. Is my investment with your company safe?
Profit Pilot Inc guarantees your investment and profits are safe as Profit Pilot Inc has the necessary insurance coverage to provide a reliable client protection from any losses and risks."
Guaranteed, huh? By who? Who's the underwriter of this insurance? Notice no names. No reputable financial institution will guarantee you make money. In fact, all of them will warn you that investments may LOSE value.
In short, yeah, that shiz is a scam yo. Run away and educate yourself instead about investing.
Of course it's a SCAM.
You have given us a real website. Congratulations.
If you want to know whether their offer is a scam or not, send them all your money and find out.
More than likely.
They say they are investment managers. Er, who are they authorised and regulated by?
Oh, that little fact seems to be missing!!
Well, I wouldn't touch it.
