Are OTC stocks automatically unsafe? I am researching a company not listed on any American exchange. It is a multi-billion dollar company from Switzerland but does business worldwide. The financial statements aren't stellar but definitely aren't horrible; it's currently trading on relatively low volume for around 10 times P/E. and is trading at about 1/8th book value. The cash balance per share is actually a higher number than the share price. I definitely have more research to do, but so far it looks like a bargain. It does trade on a non-American exchange, and I suspect the company just may not want to go through the legal process of getting listed on an American exchange. Can anybody tell me what I might be overlooking?
