Sony is a massive company so unless you're shelling out billions you're not going to have any say in their matters. I left a link on Sony's stock information. You do not need to be the majority shareholder in order to have significant influence, but you definitely would need to hold a decent amount of their stock. You can apply this to all large publicly traded companies.
