I want to invest with a friend?

If your friend is a beginner, then you're both gambling, not investing.

If the market tanks or he loses your money, you will lose both your money AND your friend. Tell him you value him too much to risk your friendship on money.

The only way you should invest with your friend or anyone else is if they can show you a historical track record of positive returns, preferably more than one year. Just ask him to show you his Schedule D tax filing that was due yesterday at the IRS.

Its a word within the dictionary that describe you

FOOL

Dont do it....Consider a Roth IRA from Fidelity, Trowe Price or Vanguard. Best of luck... Take Care

Tell him you would like to do the investing on your own and would like to match his trades.

Ask him to let you know when he buys and sells and you will do the same. Offer to pay him a small consulting fee for the information that he is giving you.

OR

Tell him you can't afford to lose that much and give him a smaller amount instead.

OR

Just tell him you can't afford it at all.

No way! Leave your $5000 in your bank account.

Don't be an idiot.

You give you mate $5k.

He loses it, then what???

Lose your own money by yourself!

So don't give him the money.
