Should I turn my investment account into a 401k account?

You can't turn a personal investment account into a 401(k) account. 401(k) plans are employer-sponsored retirement plans. What you can do is start an IRA and contribute to that.

You can't just convert a non-retirement account into a 401k. A 401K is an employer-sponsored retirement account.

Get a great adviser. You can contribute to an IRA, the amount is based on your age.

I have an investment account for a few years. I heard that if I turn my investment account into a 401k account, I can write the amount in the 401k account as tax deductible in 2015. Is this true, and also, if this is true, should I turn my investment account into a 401k account? Thank You.
