Source of company info for stock investment?

1. Yes, but . . . Generally, they're correct. There are severe legal penalties if they're not. So a company isn't going to lie and put some inflated number in place of a true number. So you can trust the data presented. However, companies can shade the interpretation or narrative somewhat.

2. Other sources: Many stock brokerage companies do analyses of publicly traded companies. There are also some research firms that do nothing but research and report on companies. Some are a lot better than others. If you have an account with a firm like Fidelity, you can access all sorts of analyses and recommendations from dozens of different companies.

Hope that helps.

Regarding the annual reports and 10-Ks you can get from company websites:

1. Are they always accurate and honest?

2. What other reliable sources are there to learn about a company's current business strategy and situation?

Thank you
