Work experience, trading floor?

Most of "bank" trading floors, the same as brokerage firms, are located in the those cities that house the main offices of the bank or in a very few select large cities.

If you're a student you can always apply either for part-time or summer work. You don't necessarily have to work "on" th floor for trading experience. You can also try to get in some of the support departments, like P&S, Fails, Stock loan/borrow all of these departments work closely with trading and their experience is valuable to trading.

You can also apply for summer and/or part time with some of the exchanges and/or regulatory agencies.

Some of the major accounting firms that audit banks and/or brokerage firms should be candidates for you to look into

Want to work on the trading floor of a large bank when im older, where do I go for work experience. Asset management firms, portfolio management? don't give me all the 'not that many people make it' crap.
