Would it make sense to invest in another mic?

If your Mom was the only using the mic and she had been for years then I would say she should pay, but if she just borrowed it a few times and others were using it also then no. Either way try to figure how often it is used and is it necessary to still own one. Based on your quoted price it sounds like it's an expensive mic. Can it be fixed versus replaced? Some high end mics use fuses that can be replaced. Google the make and model and add terms like not working or a specific symptom.....I fix things all the time. Good luck.

Your mum is mean!

So long story short my mom shorted out my mic and refuses to pay for it. This is the only mic i have so now i have to buy another but that would take all my money that i was saving. Should i even buy another? No tmany people record and i really dont feel like i shoul dhave to waste my money on a mistake that wasnt my own. I really enjoy recording music but its pretty slow and it would set me back a lot (i was saving for a car).

Im stuck between spending about $500 to get the mic i had before or just quitting while im ahead and selling my music stuff to get a car.
