19 and want to make money / investing?

Open a mutual fund or ETF and start allocating a percentage of your monthly income funding it. Start reading books on investments. Learn the basics and learn smart, SOUND strategies. Do not listen to the news, take advice from friends who have "hot stocks," or most website articles. The truth is, nobody knows whether the market is going to go up, down, or sideways. Don't listen to all the hype. Build the knowledge to make your own informed decisions. It will takes you years upon years of trial and error but eventually you will develop a system that works for YOU.

If you want even safer bets, opt for CD's or bonds. Understand though, less risk = less reward. How much are you willing to lose? These are questions and angles you need to look at with each investment decision.

start your learning at a library b4 u get burned here.
