Looking for stock market trading sites?

Posted at: 2014-12-05
looking for people to tell me some decent sites where you have made your money back plus extra and is it worth it in the end?

All major brokerage firms provide their customers with trading/investing platforms.

Most have full charting and research services, access to all major markets with real time quotes, ad direct floor (market maker) access.

Although most sites are geared to general securities and commodities, however customers may have special needs for the types of products they trade, and the markets in which they trade. For example I use Fidelity for investing. Scottrade and TDAmeritrade for equities trading and ThinkorSwim for option trading

.

It seems that the most popular firms for on-line investing/trading all of which provide excellent platforms and services are; Scottrade; Chas.Schwab; TDAmeritrade; Fidelity; E-Trade, Vanguard, T.Rowe Price and Thinkorswim

There is no shortage of opinion on the internet, or just turn on CNBC.

But this just isn't how it works, blindly taking advice from strangers or even "professionals."

"Despite what these professionals claim, it is not actually possible to predict the movement of stocks and other financial instruments. According to William J. Bernstein's book "The Four Pillars of Investing," market strategists have historically been incorrect about 77% of the time."

Despite what these "experts" claim, you have just as good a shot at making money as they do: 50/50. If you learn something, you can increase your odds slightly. If you learn how to control risk, you can reduce your losses and let your winners run, giving you much better odds than just Buy & Hope, with less risk. If you add good strategy with good money management techniques and define your time frame, you have what is called a trading plan. Lack of a plan is the number one reason traders/investors fail. This is one area where learning something really pays off.

Just type "how to invest in stock market" in the Search Y! Answers box at the top of your screen and you'll get lots of Answers, or type "how does stock market work."

Read a good book or three, like Investing For Dummies, available at your local library for free.
