Should I hold Silver Wheaton and Bank of America Shares?

These shares have not been doing well. IS IT ADVISEABLE TO SELL THEM?

I recently purchased SLW.

In general, gold and silver have been in a downtrend since peaking in late 2011. A loose definition of a bear market for a sector or index is that it has been trading under it's 200 day moving average.

After trading under their 200 DMA for more than a year, both gold and silver have broken above their 200 DMA. If you further looks at the 50, 100, annd 150 DMAs, you'll find these lines are all converging and have turned up to varying degrees. This type of chart pattern bodes well for silver and gold stocks.

There are various other technical indicators that are also showing signs of strength in gold, silver, and other commodities. In short, there are multiple reasons why you should hold SLW. If you sell now after riding out the decline, I think you will be making a big mistake.

As for BAC, the stock has been in a steady uptrend since mid-2012. The stock has been behaving very well and is staying within the bounds of a channel formed by two parallel lines. Breaking to the down side of the bottom channel would warrant watching it more closely, but for now the chart looks very good. I would hold for now.

Bank of America was hit pretty bad in 2008. I had some shares at $35/sh and was getting $2.00/sh dividends in September of that year. When the price started going down I sold. It dropped to around $3/sh. I bought into the stock again and it went up to around $16/sh. I sold.

Their dividends have been pretty low and the price hasn't really moved. They're a very volatile company pretty much going nowhere right now.
