What's wrong about benchmarking equity fund with FTSE ALL SHARE?

Does not make sense for either fund.

First fund invests in europe excluding UK. Benchmarking versus a UK index is a geographical mismatch.

Second fund is a global bond fund. A UK equity index is a mismatch on both asset class (stocks vs bonds) and geography.

i need to benchmark the following two funds with FTSE ALL SHARE. will it make sense? i don't think so. but i don't know why. please anybody would like to explain to me? many thanks in advance.

1. AREUGRA:LN Artemis European Growth Fund

Fund Type: Unit Trust

Objective: European Reg. ex UK

Asset Class: Equity

Geographic Focus: European Reg. ex UK

2. JUPCBDI:LN Jupiter Corporate Bond Fund

Fund Type: Unit Trust

Objective: Foreign Corporate Bond

Asset Class: Fixed Income

Geographic Focus: Global
